- Short: V2.03 LE ICS - professional color correction for scanners
- Author: wfaust@ics.coloraid.de (Wolf Faust)
- Uploader: wfaust@ics.coloraid.de (Wolf Faust)
- Type: hard/misc
- Replace: hard/misc/ICS.lha
-
- With ICS you can make your scans look like from the professionals.
- By using ICS scan quality is DRAMATICLY(!) improved without
- requiring the user to manualy adjust scan colors while scanning.
- ICS can also convert gray/RGB/CMYK images between various formats
- (TIFF, JPEG, IFF, PNG,...) and add things like IPTC and ICC
- information.
-
- ICS already is directly supported by ScanQuix, ScanTrax and
- ImageFX and more. Other scanner drivers authors will soon add
- direct ICS support to their scanner drivers. But ICS can also
- work independent of any specific scanner software using a
- stand-alone image file converter.
-
-
- ICS does work in 3 steps:
-
- - You do scan a calibration target with your scanner software
- and use the incl. ScanTarget programm to create a profile
- for your scanner.
-
- - You do select your monitor or standard (PAL, sRGB, NTSC,...)
- you want to color correct the scan for.
-
- - Now all scans with your scanner software will be color corrected
- automaticly.
-
- It's as easy as that...
-
-
- Note that the LE version here on AmiNet is crippled because of
- license and patent issues. For the complete software and manuals

- Changes since V2.02:
-
- - Changed: French catalogs updated. Showmanual catalog added.
- Thanks goes to Frédéric Nicolas (frederic.nicoas@free.fr).
- - Fixed: ICSConvert errors during color conversion
- of a line may be prompted for each line of
- the image converted.
- The error is only prompted once now.
- - Changed: IRW Library Update to V1.06 (07.11.01):
- + Possible Enforcer hit(s) when trying to
- load unsupported file formats. A pointer to
- the filename used in the error message may
- be wrong. Fixed.
- + PNG code updated from pnglib 1.0.9rc2 to 1.2.0.
- + TIFF code updated based on changes made from
- libtiff 3.5.5 to 3.5.9beta.
- + Major speed improvement in TIFF handling of
- uncompressed images saved in a single strip.
- Speed is still not optimal, but many times
- faster now...
- + MacBinary files now work with TIFF, GIF and JPEG.
- Other formats not yet supported but format
- type 'MacBinary + xxxx Data' will be reported to user.
- In this case people can strip the first 128 bytes
- of the file using a MacBinary tool...
- - Changed: Does not expire anymore!
